Mens Fashion Trends That Need to Stay in 2021

The fashion industry is hard to keep up because there are many fashion brands out there. In 2021, we spent the majority of our year back to normality. Fashion catwalks have made a return as well as being able to walk into high-street fashion stores again. The fashion industry is never afraid of exploring new fashion trends. Moreover, these trends can be a marketing method for getting people to talk about their brand. That is what we like to think anyways.

Fashion has changed a lot since 2019 and there are many trends that we can’t get on board with. Thankfully, 2021 is over with and hopefully, we no longer see some of the fashion trends that it produced. Here are some of the worst trends of 2021 and why we should be leaving them.

Fast Fashion

There are hundreds of fast fashion brands out there that throw away the idea of high-quality clothing. They constantly update their online stores, adapting their items and keeping up with modern trends. However, not all fast fashion brands sell cheap quality clothing. Many brands take pride in their work, looking to keep their existing customers.

One of the main issues with fast fashion brands is that they are not sustainable. The world is going through changes at the moment due to global warming. Furthermore, fast fashion is one of those that is having an impact on the planet.

One of the issues regarding fast fashion is that they are not durable. They are designed to get thrown away not long after purchase. Not only is the quality of clothing poor, but their workers are probably exploited as well.

The question is, what can we do to stop reducing the number of fast fashion brands? We recommend that you avoid buying from them for starters. Aim for those brands that take pride in durability and sustainable clothes.

Support the brands that charge a bit more for their clothing because it is of better quality. Not only will you save money over the long run. You will also be doing your bit in no longer supporting these cheap brands that are damaging the world we live in. There are many brands out there that support being sustainable such as Levi Strauss and Patagonia, these are the brands you should buy from.

If you are going to throw away those old fast fashion brands, we encourage you to recycle the materials. That way, they can be used for making other clothes.

Work From Home Outfit

We all fell into the bad habit of getting lazy with our outfits when working from home. In hindsight, there was no reason to put any effort into your outfits unless you had a zoom call with your colleagues.

There were two types of people who worked at home. You had the people that used to wake up a minute before work, put on their dressing gowns and drink coffee. Then you had the other people that used to get up an hour before work, shower, get changed, have their breakfast, and slip into their loungewear. More often than not, it was your pyjamas, an easy go-to outfit.

It was easy to slip into the dressing gown, five minutes before you had to start work. Additionally, it was a lazy habit for everybody during the working from home phase. Moreover, many people are still working from home. Therefore they are still wearing their dressing gowns and loungewear. It is time to put away those pyjamas and get back into the old habits before the pandemic started.

Shop for casual clothing that is also comfortable to wear. Casual clothing can be worn when shopping or meeting some friends. There is nothing wrong with a plain tracksuit. It is something that you can wear outside.

There are many smart sweatpants and utility clothes out there. Making the work from home attire much more presentable. As long as you don’t wear the same clothes, you are on the right track to wearing the appropriate clothing for working from home. It is time to put away those pyjamas you wear during working hours and kit yourself out.

Men’s Crocs

Men’s crocs have somehow become a popular fashion trend in 2021. Furthermore, it is due to the number of celebrities that decided to bring them back into fashion. Justin Bieber, Post Malone and Shia LaBeouf and many others were spotted wearing crocs. Now, every man seems to be wearing crocs as they believe it is a part of fashion.

Crocs are something we cannot get on board with and should be left in 2021. We understand that if you work in medicine, they would be more appropriate. However, if you are wearing them in public, we advise you don’t. We are adamant that no man above the age of five 10-years-old should be wearing a pair of crocs.

We understand that they are comfy however, there are many other shoes out there that offer the same amount of comfort. Not to mention that they are far more fashionable as well. Time to throw away those crocs.

1990s Haircuts

Somehow, the haircut styles of the 1990s have made a return. Mullets to spiky hair with way too much gel. The 90s were home to some of the worst haircuts out there. However, because men could not get their haircut during lockdown, we could understand all of the wacky haircuts.

One of the influencers of the mullet was Tiger King, also known as Joe Exotic. The 90s fashion trends seem to make an appearance now and again, and we are not sure why. Although the 90s were a great time to be alive, the fashion trends from that era were not to be remembered.

No Socks

Although this has been a trend for some years, we are recommending that you leave this trend in 2021. There is no reason why you should be wearing pants with no socks. We can understand when it gets to the warmer months, but even then you’d consider ankle socks. That is the only time when you should go around wearing no socks.

Wearing no-socks became a trend, and men stopped wearing them for casual and smart casual outfits. Although this might have been a great style back in the early and mid-2010s, it should be left back in that decade. With us being in the 3rd year into this decade, we suggest you leave them in the past and start wearing socks again.

To Conclude

Fashion is difficult to keep up with. Trends come and go, and it is hard to understand what is in fashion and what isn’t. Furthermore, there are many trends out there that you just cannot like.

It is safe to say that there are many trends in this list that lasted way longer than they should. Whether buying from fast fashion brands or walking about in a pair of crocs. It is time to stop. Hopefully, this article will help you understand that these trends should not have been trends and are well over their sell-by date.
