Or maybe you just want to snack on some appetizers that won’t eat up unnecessary time. Here are 5 delicious appetizers that can be made in under 15 minutes that are sure to delight your taste buds.
1. Blue Cheese Potato Chips
Ingredients
- 1 package (8-1/2 ounces) kettle-cooked potato chips
- 2 medium tomatoes, seeded and chopped
- 8 bacon strips, cooked and crumbled
- 6 green onions, chopped
- 1 cup crumbled blue cheese
Directions
- Preheat broiler. In a 15x10x1-in. baking pan, arrange potato chips in an even layer. Top with remaining ingredients.
- Broil 4-5 in. from heat until the cheese begins to melt, 2-3 minutes. Serve immediately.
2. Hot Pizza Dip
Ingredients
- 1 package (8 ounces) cream cheese, softened
- 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
- 1 cup shredded part-skim mozzarella cheese
- 3/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 can (8 ounces) pizza sauce
- 2 tablespoons chopped green pepper
- 2 tablespoons thinly sliced green onion
- Breadsticks or tortilla chips
Directions
- In a bowl, beat cream cheese and Italian seasoning. Spread in an ungreased 9-in. microwave-safe pie plate.
- Combine mozzarella and Parmesan cheeses; sprinkle half over the cream cheese. Top with the pizza sauce, remaining cheese mixture, green pepper and onion.
- Microwave, uncovered, on high for 2-3 minutes or until cheese is almost melted, rotating a half-turn several times. Let stand for 1-2 minutes. Serve with breadsticks or tortilla chips.
3. Shrimp and Green Chili Quesadillas
Ingredients
- 1-3/4 cups shredded cheddar cheese
- 1 cup peeled and deveined cooked small shrimp
- 1 can (4 ounces) chopped green chilies, drained
- 2 green onions, thinly sliced
- 8 flour tortillas (8 inches)
- 1 medium ripe avocado, peeled and pitted
- 2 tablespoons salsa
- 1/4 teaspoon garlic salt
Directions
- In a bowl, combine the cheese, shrimp, green chilies and green onions. Place half of the tortillas on a greased griddle; sprinkle with cheese mixture. Top with remaining tortillas. Cook over medium heat for 1-2 minutes on each side or until golden brown and cheese is melted.
- Meanwhile, in a small bowl, mash avocado with salsa and garlic salt. Serve with quesadillas.
4. Apple and Brie Skewers
Ingredients
- 2 medium apples, cubed
- 1 log (6 ounces) Brie cheese, cubed
- 1/2 cup hot caramel ice cream topping
- 1/2 cup finely chopped macadamia nuts
- 2 tablespoons dried cranberries
Directions
On each of 6 appetizer skewers, alternately thread apple and cheese cubes; place on a serving plate. Drizzle with caramel topping; sprinkle with macadamia nuts and cranberries.
5. Crayfish Mouse
Ingredients
- 3 lb. – small crayfish
- 20 Tbs – Butter
- 2 cups – heavy cream
- 1 + 1/2 Tbs – Mango pepper jelly
- salt and cayenne pepper to taste
Directions
- Cream the butter.
- In the food processor, process the crayfish into a smooth paste.
- Add the crayfish and Mango PepperJam to the butter and combine well.
- Whip the cream and add the salt and pepper to taste.
- Fold in enough of the cream to the crayfish mixture to achieve the desired texture.
